Your Design Deserves Better: How to Choose Quality Custom Clothing
Your artwork deserves a garment you will reach for again. Here is how to choose the right fabric, fit and print—without getting lost in the specifications.

In this guide
Great custom clothing needs three things: a garment you enjoy wearing, artwork prepared for print and a process suited to the fabric. At Kaleido, you can choose the base as carefully as the design—from a relaxed garment-dyed tee to a boxy streetwear fit.
The piece should feel as good as it looks
You notice the graphic first. You notice the neckline, fit and fabric every time you wear it. That is why we offer distinct garment options instead of treating every custom tee as the same blank canvas.
“Premium” on its own tells you very little. The useful question is: what will this particular garment feel like on you?
Find the base that fits your style
Stanley/Stella Creator
Your everyday graphic tee
180 g/m² organic ring-spun cotton jersey and a medium fit. A good starting point for a clean, simple design.
Comfort Colors 1717
That relaxed, vintage mood
Approx. 207 g/m², garment-dyed cotton and a relaxed fit. Pair it with a faded-look illustration or a personal photo collage.
Cotton Heritage MC1087
A bolder streetwear silhouette
Approx. 237 g/m², a boxy oversized fit and dropped shoulders. Consider it when the shape matters as much as the print.
All-over fleece
Art across the whole garment
Approx. 308 g/m² with a brushed interior. A recycled polyester/elastane blend for designs that extend across the panels.

Choose a print that works with the fabric
A chest illustration and a wraparound pattern ask different things of a garment. The material and decoration method need to work together.
Direct-to-garment printing
Graphics on cotton
Ink is applied to the garment. A smooth surface, a clear artwork file and correct preparation and curing help the design come through.
Sublimation
Patterns across panels
Colour enters the polyester fibres, rather than forming a separate adhesive film. It suits all-over artwork without a large transfer-patch feel.
A lower price only matters if the piece is comparable
Before you compare prices, compare what is included. A listing may cover a thinner garment, a smaller print or a quantity you do not need.
- Same fabric and garment fit?
- Same print areas and artwork size?
- Delivery included in the final price?
- Clear help if the item arrives with a defect?
Keep it in your rotation
Good care helps preserve a piece you love. For printed tees, wash gently inside out, use mild detergent and avoid direct heat on the print. Always follow the instructions for your specific garment.
No fabric or print lasts forever. We would rather help you choose and care for the right piece than promise an untested number of washes.
Frequently asked questions
What makes custom clothing premium?
The combination of garment materials, construction, fit, artwork and print execution matters. Look for named products and clear specifications rather than judging quality only by price or the word ‘premium’.
Is a heavier T-shirt always better?
No. GSM measures fabric weight. A lighter tee can suit everyday layering, while a heavier boxy tee offers a different feel and silhouette. Compare yarn, fit, construction and the intended use too.
Will a custom print last forever?
No garment or print is immune to wear. Correct production and product-specific care help maintain the result. Follow the care label, avoid unnecessary heat and do not assume that ink certification guarantees a fixed number of washes.
Are clothing suppliers on Alibaba always lower quality?
No. Alibaba includes different suppliers and quality levels. Assess the exact product, sample, order terms and applicable buyer protections. Location and low price alone do not establish whether a garment is well made.
Why choose Kaleido for one personal piece?
Kaleido brings defined garment choices, a real-time 3D design preview and single-piece ordering into one experience. You can focus on your own clothing rather than organising a bulk sourcing project.
